Dr. Farzin Aghdasi,from the Continental Boards of Counselors
Farzin Aghdasi holds an MBA and a PhD in Computer Vision. His research has applied Artificial Intelligence methods for early detection of Breast Cancer. He has lived in Africa and lectured at the Universities of Zimbabwe and Witwatersrand. He now serves on the Continental Board of Counselors for the Americas.
Dr. Fariba Aghdasi,Southwestern Regional Council Member
Dr. Fariba Aghdasi has served as the Deputy Secretary of the Regional Bahá'í Council of the Southwestern States since the formation of that institution. She is also the Director of the Regional Teaching Office, an office of the Regional Bahá'í Council serving the advancement of the clusters in the region. She has been a long term pioneer to South Africa and to Zimbabwe and has served on its National Spiritual Assembly. She has also served as the Regional Coordinator for the Regional Training Institute in the Western States in its formative years. She is a professional engineer holding a doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering and was previously professor and head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering in Zimbabwe. She is married with two children and currently lives in Central California
Aniela Costello,South Central Regional Bahá’í Council Member
Aniela Costello is a licensed Homeopathic Practitioner (LHP) and has been in clinical practice for 20 years specializing in the family dynamic. Aniela works with non-profit organizations merging spiritual principles with practical applications. Her area of interest includes facilitating workshops entitled "Honoring the Teenage Spirit" and the "Spiritual Parent." Capitalizing upon the excitement and momentum of her learnings from Book 5, "Releasing the Power of Junior Youth" have vastly enriched these workshops in the secular world. Aniela serves on the South Central Regional Council functioning as the Cluster Development Coordinator. She has finished the sequence of institute courses (looking ever forward to go through them again and again to hone her teaching and community building skills) and has been blessed with 24 years of marriage and is a mother to five incredible Bahá'i men.
Regina Rafraf, South Central Regional Baha'i Council Member
Regina Rafraf grew up on a farm in a large, Catholic family in northern Minnesota, but she prefers warm weather and is happy to now live in the South! She is the 12th of 12 children. Her mother was an elementary teacher and her father was a farmer. They were not wealthy, but rich in faith and strong family values. After praying to find the “true religion” she learned about the Baha’i Faith and declared. Regina holds a B.A. degree in Art and a graduate degree in Holistic Health. After working in the health field for over 10 years, she switched careers to computers and has been employed by Microsoft for over 18 years. She belongs to Toastmasters International and achieved her CTM. Regina has been a Baha'i for 27 years and currently serves as the Secretary of the South Central Regional Baha’i Council. She is married to Kambiz Rafraf, and lives in Dallas with her family. She will make a presentation entitled; " Supporting Efforts in B & C Clusters"
